A book released this September talks about how the crooks ran the St.Paul police department,so of course the Barker Gang had to be somewhere in the title!It mostly covers Chief of Police ,Tom Brown,who not only kept certain criminals out of jail,but also helped with their crimes,including murder- - -and he got away with it all.Author,Tim Mahoney,stated that what made him interested in the gangster era eas the kidnapping of Bremer(and the belief that Tom Brown was involved).Mahoney is currently doing a book tour for this title.Must-read.
